This is a tensegrity table also known as a gravity-defying table or floating table. It's made in such a way that the observer will be confused at starting how it is standing on its own. It is supported by the centre chain and the corner chains are just there for stability. Screws are provided (can be seen in the picture) to create stability.
Generally used in drawing rooms as a decorative piece.
